Oh, wow… Reading this reminded me of the movie “Black Swan.” 😊 The image conveyed by these words transcends typical fluffy notions of feminine grace: what you’ve painted here suggests power and precision, and a drive as menacing as steel.

Every ballerina I’ve ever known has been extremely determined, driven, and physically powerful – not the fragile, frail image many associate with dancers. I’m glad you liked it!

In fact, I just read this poem through a few more times – and in my mind, I can almost hear the snap of bones in the frenzy of dance rehearsals. Haunting and evocative.
