Ok. I did it.
On November 1st, I managed to finish the entire rough draft for my transmedia marketing proposal for school, read almost 100 pages from my textbook, hit the gym [in the morning – bonus points], and chugged out the first 2,300 words for NaNoWriMo. Whew! I’m exhausted just recounting it.
Tonight, I plan to wrap up an article I’m writing for the Connect site [Full Sail University’s news feed], as well as write at LEAST 5,000 more words for NaNoWriMo. Why so many tonight?
This weekend, my husband and I are heading to Clearwater Beach to celebrate his birthday and I plan to FULLY disconnect from work, school, and my commitments – to just enjoy my time with him. Quite the challenge, but I’m going to do it. No laptop, no cell phone. Just him, sparkling white sand, frothy sea foam, and perhaps a sugary drink with an umbrella.
So, in order to accomplish this goal of complete and total disconnection from technology and social media, I need to push myself to the max and get three days worth of NaNoWriMo writing done this evening so I do not fall behind. I hate working at a deficit, knowing that I’m behind where I need to be, so I’d rather try to get as far ahead as possible tonight than attempt to play “catch up” when I get back late on Sunday evening.
With that in mind, I’m going to cut this post a bit short, as I have some NaNoWriMo’ing [did I just create a new verb?] to do this evening.
Wish me luck on my prioritization!
