I’d like to take a moment to pause and reflect on my life thus far in 2012.

Today is November 14th, 2012. How exactly did that happen? Where does the time go?

This has been a busy year. Since January 1st, 2012, I’ve accomplished quite a bit. I’ve failed at quite a bit, as well, but that’s another story for another time.

So far this year, I’ve been published eleven times [woohoo!], completed the Savage Race [I’m a masochist, I know], become an Aunt, served as the Matron of Honor at my best friend’s wedding, traveled to Mexico and didn’t get Montezuma’s Revenge, and successfully passed Physics. I have no idea what my original resolutions were for 2012, but I’d say I’ve had a pretty productive year. Even lost a few pounds in the mix, but that was more the result of a busy lifestyle than a conscious effort on my part.

Now, we’re almost halfway through November and I’m attempting NaNoWriMo, despite full-time school and full-time work. What in the world was I thinking? I’m managing to keep up, running just a little short on my word quota, but surviving on an average of just four to five hours of sleep per night. Masochistic? Yes. Worth it? YES.

So, while I’m sad it’s November, it’s not because I feel I’m behind on my goals or regretting the time I’ve spent. I’ve had an AMAZING 2012 – I’m just sad that it’s coming to an end. The bar has been set very high for 2013, so I’m excited to see what the future has in store.

I will admit, however, that I’m not too pleased by the fact that Department stores have been playing Christmas music since November 1st. Oh no, November! Don’t you dare forget about Thanksgiving! One holiday at a time, people. Please and thank you.

Optimistic for some cranberry sauce and green bean casserole – nom nom nom!
