This morning, I met with the incredibly talented staff members of Different Perspective, a design/marketing/PR firm in Downtown Orlando. I had the opportunity to tell them a bit about myself, my life, and – most importantly – my professional goals as a writer.

And they listened.

On the 23rd of this month, I’ll be meeting with their Creative Director [and signing a contract] to have them design a custom logo, business cards, branded letterhead and envelopes. I’m thrilled to be in business with such a creative, intelligent, and altruistic team. They take my dream [of branding myself as a professional writer] as seriously as I do and they are going to play an active part in helping me take my career to the next level. I’m giddy with anticipation and eager to get started.

While I didn’t commit to many resolutions for the new year, taking proactive steps to making my dream a reality was a major goal for 2013. I feel like I’m taking some pretty large steps in the right direction here. It feels good. It feels RIGHT.

So… now I need to stop slacking and finish editing my novel, as I’m going to have some fancy branded letterhead to write my query letters on very soon!
