Last night, I had the opportunity to hang out with my future sister-in-law, Lindsey.
She’s getting married in just six short weeks [egads!] and last night we were working on the finishing touches for her wedding invites. A little late, but better than never. Since she is using a virtual RSVP website, she had the flexibility of sending her invites out closer to the big day.
I’m fortunate enough to have legible handwriting and she’s patient enough to let me practice my fancy looping letters, so it worked out for both of us.
While she stuffed envelopes and I pretended to be a master calligrapher, we sipped wine [we both love our Malbec!] and exchanged stories.
One of the major topics for discussion was the sheer volume of coincidences between Lindsey’s family and mine/my brother-in-law’s. It’s hard to believe, but her parents and my in-laws share the EXACT same first names. I’m not kidding – the Mom and Dad on both sides are David and Patty. What are the chances?
On top of that, Lindsey and I share the same birth month, we both have nearly identical heritage, and we have the same propensities towards wine, food, and clothing.
I could go on and on here. Really, some of the coincidences are staggering. Pretty sure several of her relatives share the exact same birth dates as mine, as well, but it’s all a wine-jumbled memory at the moment.
You know, I’m not normally one to believe it fate, but sometimes I feel that things work out for a reason. This abundance of coincidences just further reinforces it for me. I feel that Lindsey is not only a blessing to her future husband, she is a blessing to our whole family.
She’s definitely a blessing to me.
I can’t wait to have my sister – officially, that is.
Optimistic for many more wine-nights in the future,
