My apologies for the long hiatus!
As many of you know, my husband and I moved into our new place a couple of weeks ago and we’ve only just gotten our cable/internet transferred over. A life without TV and home internet access has been interesting. Instead of surfing the web, we’ve been talking over dinner. Instead of zoning out in front of the TV, we’ve focused on unpacking and settling in, which actually put us ahead of schedule. What we thought would be an arduous process of organizing and unloading has actually turned into a good way to pass the time while in good company.
As much as I enjoyed the bonding time with my husband, I was pretty grateful to be able to sign online and check email, FB, twitter, etc. You really forget how much NEWS you miss out on without basic internet and TV access. Other than what I could access from my phone, I had no idea what was happening in the world. Entire countries could have been bombed and without my daily check on CNN, I was completely oblivious.
I’m going to spend a few hours catching up and reading some of my favorite blogs and articles, but I hope to get a few posts out myself in the next few days. Lots of interesting stories to tell and events in the world to discuss!
Until then, I’m optimistic that I’ve discovered a new balance between TV/Internet and actually living life. 🙂
