A Photo in The Flowerbed

A Photo in The Flowerbed

As I was walking through my neighborhood a few weeks ago, I stumbled across this photo sitting in the flowerbed. There were no houses nearby, just shops and an elementary school, so I had no idea where it had come from. I didn’t pick up the picture, but I stared at it for several minutes, pondering the older couple. I immediately began to wonder… who are they? Are they still around? Did this photo belong to someone? Perhaps it flew out of their car or slipped from a notebook as a young child walked home from school.

How many stories are contained in this photo?

When I got home, I wrote a piece of flash fiction on this photo. I found out yesterday that it will be published by Linguistic Erosion on May 3rd.

Inspiration can strike anywhere, my friends!
